IIT-Kanpur will establish an autonomous centre 'Chandrakanta Kesavan Centre for Energy Policy and Climate Solutions',

 • IIT-Kanpur will establish an autonomous centre 'Chandrakanta Kesavan Centre for Energy Policy and Climate Solutions', for implementing the practical solutions for India & the world to combat Climate Change. 



• It will be working with the Department of Sustainable Energy Engineering.

• The Centre is named after Dr Chandrakanta Kesavan, pioneering acoustical engineer, also a role model for many Indian young girls in science. 

• An agreement is established between IIT Kanpur and Sudhakar Kesavan, an alumnus of the Class of 1976 from IIT Kanpur, to establish the Centre in IIT-K.

• The primary focus is on policy, communications, education, and outreach efforts to implement technology and science-based solutions in the country at large, outside the academic world.

  The Quit India Movement was a clarion call given by Mahatma Gandhi on 9 August 1942 from the Bombay session of the All-India Congress Committee in Mumbai; it is also known as August Movement or August Kranti.   • It is a part of the Civil Disobedience Movement launched by Mahatma Gandhi to end British rule in India.  Quit India Movement • The Quit India Movement is one of India's most important freedom struggle movements that led to India's end of British rule.  • On 9 August 1942, Mahatma Gandhi initiated the Quit India Movement or Bharat Chodo Aandolan from Bombay.
