1) 🥇India’s Neeraj Chopra won the first ever athletics medal for India in Olympics. At the javelin throw final, Neeraj Chopra threw 87.58m in his second attempt. This won him the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

➨Neeraj Chopra became second Indian to get gold after Abhinav Bindra.

➨Neeraj Chopra was the best prospect for India to get a medal. On August 4, he became the first Indian javelin thrower in history to qualify for the final at the Olympic Games.


2) 🥈 Mirabai Chanu ended India's 21-year wait for a weightlifting medal at the Olympics by clinching a silver medal in the 49kg category.

➨ This is India's second weightlifting medal at the Olympics overall, after Karnam Malleswari, who won the bronze at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Mirabai, with this has also become overall the 17th individual Olympic medallist from India (from 1900 to 2021).


3)🥈Indian wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya bagged the silver medal after losing in the final of men's 57kg freestyle category to Russian Olympic Committee’s (ROC) Zavur Uguev. 

➨ Ravi Kumar is the fifth Indian wrestler after KD Jadhav, Sushil Kumar, Yogeshwar Dutt, and Sakshi Malik to finish on the Olympic podium.


4) 🥉Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia won the bronze medal after defeating Daulet Niyazbekov of Kazakhstan in the men's freestyle 65kg category. The second seed, who faced a crushing 5-12 defeat to Azerbaijan's Haji Aliyev in the semifinals, redeemed his campaign as he earned India's sixth medal of Tokyo 2020 with a clear 8-0 victory in the bronze medal bout.


5) 🥉Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain has taken the bronze medal in the women's welterweight category at the Tokyo Olympics.

➨ The 23-year-old from Assam lost the semifinal in a unanimous decision to Turkish top seed Busenaz Surmeneli at the Ryogoku Kokugikan arena.


6) 🥉 PV Sindhu created history by winning the bronze medal match against China's He Bing Jiao at the Tokyo Olympics. She won the crucial encounter 21-13, 21-15 to become the first Indian woman ever to win two individual Olympic medals.


7) 🥉India ended a long, excruciating wait of 41 years as they bagged the bronze medal in men’s hockey after defeating Germany 5-4 in the play-off at the Tokyo Olympics.

➨ It was India's third hockey bronze medal in the history of the Olympics. The other two came in 1968 Mexico City and the 1972 Munich Games.
